DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) This sugar-derived compound reacts with amino acids in the outer layer of your skin (the stratum corneum). It triggers a Maillard reaction, producing a temporary tan. DHA doesn’t penetrate beyond the outermost skin cells, making it safe and non-invasive. As those cells naturally shed, the tan fades. The tan develops over 4–12 hours depending on the formula

Should I exfoliate before my spray tan??

Yes! Exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and ensure an even application. Use an exfoliation mitt or a dry brush. Avoid sugar scrubs with oils as these can leave a barrier on the skin

Can I shave and shower the day of my tan??

Ideally, shave and shower at least 8 hours before. Shaving too close to your appointment can cause irritation or "strawberry skin", while showering too soon can leave your skin water-logged and unable to properly absorb the solution. Waxing should be done 48 hours before the appointment.

What should I wear to my appointment??

Loose, dark clothing is best. Avoid tight leggings, bras, or jeans that could rub off the solution.

Make up is not recommended to wear until after the first water rinse. Each client will be advised of their specific rinse times based on their desired outcomes and other factors such as activities during their day that might require a faster rinse times.

Can I get a spray tan if my skin is sunburned??

No, unfortunately spray tanning over sunburned skin, even if it appears your sun burn is healed, is never recommended. The skin takes 6 weeks to fully heal after a sunburn. Body makeup wash off tan is a great option to achieve a deep tan color, but it will not tan your skin.
